The Institute participates in research and evaluation projects related to its field of practice.
Such projects are sometimes undertaken in partnership with academic institutions or other child and
family service organisations. As part of this commitment to research, one Institute staff member is on
the editorial boards of two respected industry journals ( Children Australia and Reclaiming Children and Youth ) .
Recent program evaluations include a residential and school program in Victoria for young people under statutory
supervision, and a long-established residential care and treatment service in Sydney.
